:: Frequently Asked
Questions ::
Q: What causes a leaky faucet?
A: Most often, a leak occurs because
the faucet’s seal is work out or needs cleaning. We can help you by either
replacing the worn-out parts, or offer a free consultation on ways that you
could upgrade your existing faucets to eliminate the problem.
Q: What are the different types of
faucets?
A: Faucets come in all shapes, sizes
and materials. Some are better than others, and most often this is reflected
in the price of the faucet. In general, a solid brass or a chrome-plated solid
brass faucet will give you a better overall performance, will last longer,
and will look the most attractive.
Q: I have a two single faucet, but
I’d rather have one handle. Is this do-able?
A: Yes. We will need to evaluate
your project just to confirm that your faucet and sink openings fit the
plumbing industry standard sizes.
Q: What is pressure balancing?
A: This is a process that is used
for showers, to accommodate changes in water pressure. This process will
eliminate problems caused when multiple sources are using the water, such as
a flushing a toilet or running the washing machine while someone is taking a
shower. We will install a pressure-balancing valve to keep your water
temperature consistent despite these other interruptions.
Q: What kind of maintenance should I
do for my hot water heater?
A: We recommend hiring a
professional plumber to periodically clean your hot water heater to help
maintain maximum performance. As your water heaters get older, they
accumulate sediment deposits, which greatly reduce the heater’s performance.
Q: When should I replace my water
heater?
A: In general, it’s time to get a
new hot water heater if your tank leaks, you hear a rumbling noise, or you
are experiencing problems with the heater adequately heating your
water.
Q: I dropped something into my garbage disposal. Now what?
A: DO NOT attempt to remove an
object on your own. Immediately call us to help you with this problem.
